Author Commentary: If you have ever seen the real, Fushigi Yuugi: Mysterious Play, Japanese Anime then you know that the main characters are the Priestess, well this story is similar to that but it is all jumbled together to make a knew story. The main character could be a girl named Haktura Kunzite. She is a Dria Warrior, about 19 years old, and the daughter of the Emperor of the Kusco Empire. Or the main characters could be the priestess, but you can't tell can you?
Many Many
years have passed since Seiryuu had
been sealed away. Peace had reigned until recently:
Haktura staggered down the road toward Konan, she was careful enough to stay hidden by the trees that were along side the road.
*I must get to Konan* she thought as she grimaced in pain. She had over heard some guards talking about attacking the
emperor, and Haktura knew that she had to tell Hotohori or at least die trying to. She had been stabbed by the sword of one of the soldiers and left to die. She looked at the path of blood that followed her.
*Almost there, just a little farther,
must warn the emperor* she
thought as she stumbled into the Konan palace. she shouted
hoping someone would hear her cries and come to see what it was she needed. "Help
someone please!! I have a message for the
emperor." She collapsed in the street outside the throne room.
"Must warn emperor." she said as she
slipped into unconsciousness.
A few hours later.....
"How is she?" Hotohori asked as he came into the girl's
room.
"Haktura Kunzite is at the Konan
Palace!!!!" Tomni yelled
"Don't you remember who she
is?"
Dear Father,
Haktura sat straight up in bed. she knew that she would have to go back home soon if she expected to keep the peace between the two
kingdoms. but she so liked Hotohori that it wasn't funny. *but I know that as long as I am here Tomias' army can't attack Konan due to Dria
and Suzaku.* she thought. *what will happen if I leave? Will I be killed? Will Konan be
attacked?* she lay back down upon the bed.
still weak from the loss of blood. Miaka walked in and asked her how she was doing.
"I'm as good as can be
expected." she replied and
slowly fell asleep while Miaka sat by her side.

GM:
This is where we start the Role-playing. We are starting in the throne room as
it says above. And so here goes the
Gaming:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maxiumus
Rides up the road to Konan even thought he has been at a steady trot for some
hours Mercury has yet to break a sweat. "A little farther old
friend" Maximus whispers to his horse in Latin as a he approaches the gate
to the palace. "
I have heard much if this Hotohori" he thinks.
"Let us hope that his is a hospitable as the stories say".
Startled by the voice of another, he turns, dismounts and bows
graciously. "Hail, I am Maxiumus Atrius, I come from the lands far to the
West. I have traveled far today and have come to beg Ceasar's, excuse me,
the Emperor's hospitality. If he sees fit to honor my request."
Haktura
lead the way out to the hall. "First of all we need to get you an outfit
for the feast, it will be starting with in the next half hour." she blushed
a little and lead the way to Tamahome's room, "Tamahome should have
something nice for you to where."
Haktura
sat down on the bed; she couldn't decide what she wanted to wear that night. She
lay down and fell asleep thinking about what to wear.
School was just starting for the day but Miaka was no where to be seen. If you were to
walk into the bed room of this girl you would see that she held the book of
"The Universe Of The Four Gods"
in her hands. Something had compelled her
to take the book out of hiding.
Yui decides to skip school as well and goes over to Miaka's home. She finds her
reading what has been happening in the book.
Miaka sat on the floor of her room, hovered over the book
"The Universe of The Four Gods".
Her eyes were glued to the pages, and
the way she leaned forward it looked as though she was very interested in what she was reading.
The only that thing tore her focus away from the book, was the faint sound of
her door knob turning. Her head whipped around to see Yui standing in the
doorway. Miaka was frozen in her spot, "Yui.."
She said, almost afraid of what her friend might think of her reading the book. The
clever thought of stashing the book under her bed never crossed her mind. (That's
Miaka for you.)
Miaka remained sitting on the floor. She closed the book and held it to her
chest, trying to keep Yui from being able discover what she was reading. She
nervously laughed,
"Uhh.. Hey Yui, What's going
on?" Moving from the
floor to her desk, She fumbled to hide the book among her other textbooks.
Yui frowned in mock disappointment at not being told what the book Miaka was
reading was, not believing that it was a school textbook. "Aww,
come on, you can tell me. Cause I don't think that's a book for school." she moved forward slightly, though
she had no intention to go looking through
Miaka's textbooks herself to see what the book was. Her quick movement caused
her to stumble and bump the desk. The Book fell to the
floor and opened to the spot that Miaka had been reading.
Miaka gasped, and tried to reach out before it hit the ground. But, The book was
already open and in the exact spot she had been reading. More words were
appearing on the page as the book lay there. There was no way now she could cover up the fact that it
was not school reading. She sighed,
"It's not school
textbook.
It's The Universe of The Four Gods."
Yui though she had recognized the book, but had been hoping that her dear friend
hadn’t been stupid enough to take it from hiding. She quickly picked it up off the ground as she looked
at her friend with a cool yet stern face. ”Miaka, you
know you shouldn’t be reading this. It’s, it’s too close to your
next exam and you should be concentrating on your school work.” Yui
didn’t want to be holding the book, let alone in the same room as it anymore.
It held too many painful memories for her. Having seen the words appear on
the page she suddenly felt a cold shudder run through her wondering why the book
was still writing as though the story was continuing, praying that Miaka
hadn’t done something to inadvertently start a new story.
Miaka's shoulders drooped, as she stared down at the ground. "I
know. Sorry, Yui." She replied, in a soft voice. She could tell Yui
was disappointed in her for reading the book. Better yet, Just having the book
in her room. That expression on her face gave it all away. They've been best
friends since they were little. So, Of course Miaka knew exactly what that look
meant. Miaka looked up at Yui, with a sad expression on her face.
Yui watched as her shoulders moved down and her voice fell slightly as
she apologized to her and felt badly for being so harsh. She couldn’t
blame Miaka for wanting to check out the book again as her experiences had been
such good ones, having made so many wonderful friends and allies while she had
been in the book world.
Yui smiled as she stood on her tiptoes placing the book on the top of Miaka’s
shelf on the wall. Tilting her head to the side and raising one finger up into the air she winked
at her. ”That’s enough about the
book. Miaka, you said you wanted to talk about something over the phone?
I don’t suppose you had changed your mind about going out for lunch? My
treat?!” She wasn’t sure if Miaka had wanted to talk about the book
or not.
Miaka's eyes followed Yui's every motion, as she placed the book on
her highest shelf. She blinked, as Yui obviously hinted to Miaka for taking the
book out of hiding. Laughing, She snapping out of her dazed mood. "Yeah..
Heh, Heh." Suddenly, an urge came over her to grab the book from the
shelf. It felt as though it was just calling for her to read on. The events
going on currently were interesting, and something she didn't recognize. But,
Yui's offer quickly steered her focus away. "Lunch?!
Of course! Thank you, Yui!" She exclaimed, latching onto her best
friend.
Knowing that food was one of the ways to her friend’s heart Yui started
laughing glad that the tense atmosphere was gone and her friend was smiling
again. ”Ok it’s decided then. We’ll have a
day out on the city. What do you say?”
Yui smiled
brightly as she caught Miaka in a head lock and started ruffling her hair with
her fingers glad that they could be such good close friends again.
Yui let go of Miaka walking towards the door as she spoke. ”Hummmmm….you
up for sushi? I know a great place down the street, or we can try
something else. I know – Miaka, why don’t you pick? I’m up
for anything.”
She kept worrying about Miaka wanting to read the book and wanted to get her out
of the house and as far away from it as she could. Perhaps while she was
out she could call Taka and have him return the book to the hiding place
for safekeeping. If not, she would have to keep a closer eye on her friend
until it was safely back in hiding.
Miaka giggled, and tried to escape from her friend's headlock. "Yuiii!"
She patted her head, making sure her hair was still in place as two buns.
Smiling she replied, "Yeah, How
about Chinese spring egg rolls? There's this little show that just opened." Her stomach growled. Miaka
clutched her tummy, and laughed. Miaka followed Yui to the door, and clapped her hands together.
"Mmm,
Egg rolls sound good! Don't you agree Yui?"
The book calls to the two former Priestess they stop short as
the book begins to glow a bright aqua color.
"Hey what's going on here. I thought that book was
locked up?" Came a male voice from down the Hall. It was
Keisuke. As he walked closer to the book it begins to rise into the
air and open it's pages. The picture displayed is of the Konan Empire the book
begins to draw Miaka towards it. The next scene she sees is the
palace walls all around her. Hotohori is informed that Miaka has returned to
the Konan empire after having been gone for so long. Miaka heads toward the
throne room when she received word that Hotohori was anxious to see them.
Taka and Miaka had just entered the palace when they heard the cry for help. The two of them rushed in the
direction of the voice, finding the young woman lying unconscious. "I wonder what's so important for her to need to see
Hotohori?" Miaka said, as Taka picked the woman up in his arms.
Taka carried Haktura to the throne room. "Sire
this lady was found outside the throne room.
She is
unconscious now but she said something about warning you!" Taka
said as he knelt before the emperor.
"Take her to a room and we shall try to save her as best we
can." Hotohori said
"Yes Sire" Taka answered as he walked away.
"Much better sire. She is now awake enough to tell you the warning." Miaka said
"Great, let's hear it." he walked over to Haktura and asked her what it was
that had brought her to his empire in such haste.
"Sire" she said starting to stand up. she was to weak to do so ,
and fell back against the pillows.
"Sire there are Kusco Soldiers on
their way here to attack the
palace."
"Taka go get the guards and soldiers ready. have them prepared for a
battle." The Emperor
commanded him.
"Yes
Sire." Taka said as he ran off to gather everyone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the GM:
All of the Suzaku Warriors have been found and are somewhere within the Palace
walls. A Girl has just shown up with really bad injuries. They found out from this girl that Kusco Soldiers are on their way to attack Konan, and Hotohori has put his guards to watch for the attacking army. Miaka and Taka are in the same room as
Hotohori. They have been waiting for sometime for Taiitsukun or someone with info on the
new Gods that had appeared after Seiryuu was sealed away and Miaka's world was
returned to normal. Unbeknownst to them Haktura has the info but being that she was injured so bad she can't say much
and wishes she had telepathic abilities. Let's see what happens next....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kaika who had been standing nearby approached Hotohori. "Can I be of some help
Sire?" the once former Seiryuu warrior
asked, "I could go and infiltrate the army and
find out what they are up to."
"It's worth a shot, your
majesty" Nuriko said.
"Yes please do so" Hotohori replied to the kid.
"That would be a great idea."
Haktura looked at the kid that was standing there "Who are
they?" she asked pointing to the people who
had just entered the room.
Hotohori pointed to each person and introduced them to her.
Then asked her where she had come from.
"I came from the town of Kusco the place that is about to attack
you." she said hoping that nothing would
happen to her. "I was on my way home from a friends house when I came upon the guards. I over heard them and
accidentally stepped on a twig they attacked me and left me for dead. I of course have the power to heal
but for some reason they won't work." She looked at the emperor to see if he showed any signs of wanting to
hurt her. she cringed when he lifted his hand.
"Don't worry I won't hurt you. You are now under my protection, and you can stay here for as long as you
want to." He turned to Miaka.
"Go
and find Mitsukaki"
"Yes Sire" Miaka
replied and ran out the door. In a few minuets she returned with the healer. Mits
(his nickname) kneeled beside Haktura and put his hands over her to heal her.
Instantly she was healed but was still
very
tired from her journey.
"Come let's let her get her rest, she needs all the sleep she can get, for I would like to know more about this Kusco that she talks
about" Hotohori said.
Haktura watched them as they left. *I think I'll leave in the
morning. I don't want to be a burden to them and besides. If I stay they will be in worse trouble then they are
now.* she looked out the window.
*the
emperor must be worried by now being as his only daughter is now missing.* she slowly fell
into a fitful sleep.
Awaking the next morning she decided she would stay at least for a few more days.
She waited for someone to come and get her for breakfast.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While Haktura was talking to Hotohori, Kaika, along with Nuriko and Tasuki left the palace to kill some of the soldiers. They picked out three horses, Tasuki choosing a gentle looking horse that wouldn't cause him any problems, and rode off in the direction of the Kusco camp.
Once the camp was in sight, the three of them got off their horses, and ambushed three soldiers, relieving them of their uniforms. Tasuki, Kaika and Nuriko then entered the camp undetected to begin their mission.
Taka silently followed the warriors. He knew what they were up to and wanted to see how it turned out.
CRACK!!! *shoot stepped on a twig.* instantly he was
surrounded by solders, tied up and put under heavy guard. *Shoot why'd I get my self into this. I hope
the guys will help me get out of this*
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"... And they caught this idiot wandering the
camp" a guard said, as the disguised Tasuki, Amiboshi
(AKA Kaika) and Nuriko sat around the campfire. "I swear, Konan sending children to spy on us. Have you ever heard
anything so funny?"
The three of them looked at each other. "Who do you suppose it
is?" Amiboshi asked.
"Only one way to find out" Nuriko said, standing up, "I'll go find
out." She stood up and headed to the tent
where Taka was being held, a uniform in his hand. "Why are you here,
Taka?" Nuriko asked, entering the
tent "You should be helping Miaka and the others back
in Eiyo."
"I had to leave. I had a mission to take care of and saw you guys. I thought I'd see what you were up to
before caring out my mission." Taka said.
"Sorry if
I've messed things up for you. Can I leave now please?" Taka looked at Nuriko.
"I have to
complete my mission then return to Konan."
"Go ahead" Nuriko
answered, "but put this on first. That way you won't be
recognized." She tossed Taka the
spare Kusco soldier's uniform.
"Thank you Nuriko." Taka said and ran off to find Tomni and let him know of the attack and that
Haktura was at the palace.
The
Kusco Palace
"No Sire. Who is she?" Taka asked
"She is the my Daughter you
idiot!!" Tomni said. The Emperor looked at Taka.
"Go at once to the
emperor and tell him who she is."
"Yes Sire." Tomni said and ran off to Konan. When he arrived at Konan he ran straight to the palace to let the
emperor know the news.
"
She is Who!?!" Hotohori shouted
" She is the daughter of the Emperor of Kusco,
Sire " Taka told him.
As they spoke Haktura walked into the room undetected. she knew that now that the
emperor of Konan knew who she was it was certain death. She walked up beside Taka and knelt before the
emperor. "
Sire now that you know who I am what are you going to do with
me?
"
Miaka, who had been sitting beside Hotohori this whole time now whispered something into his ear.
"Sire let her go. don't harm her or
the whole empire will be destroyed. let her live here as long as she needs to and do not harm her for you gave your word that you would
not."
"Yes you are right Miaka, I will do as you have
suggested." He turned to Haktura.
"You may live here for as long as you want. I already gave
my word that you were not to be harmed and so you shall not."
"Thank you Sire."
"But you must send word to your father and let him know that you are
safe."
"Yes Sire" Haktura said and ran to the room given her to write her father.
Here is what the letter said:
Hey it's me Haktura. I'm ok so you don't have to worry. they are
treating me so kindly here in Konan. yes daddy I ran away. but I had to. I was on a way
home from a friends house when one of your guards attacked
me. I was hurt real bad but made it to Konan to let them know of the guards plans to attack Konan. they have made me healthy again and my
wounds are all healed. Give my regards to mom. I shall be home in a few days. they said that I could stay here for a while. and the
Priestess is so pretty and nice. well I'll see you in a few days daddy. please punish Tomias for his attack on me.
She sealed the letter with her personal
seal and handed it to Taka who then delivered the letter and waited for a response from the Kusco Emperor.
~Haktura Lakuna Kunzite
"Is my daughter as healthy as she
claims?" he asked Taka
"yes sire. she is. and she says that she will be home in a few
days." Taka answered
"Tell my Daughter that Tomias is in the prison and that when she is ready she may come
home."
"Yes Sire." Taka said and returned to Konan to relay the message to Haktura.
The emperor of Kusco sent for Tomias and asked him why he had sent the army to attack Konan.
The two kingdoms had been at peace for some
time now. "Sire I did not send them to attack Konan. I received a letter saying that I was to set up camps around Konan and wait for
the signal to attack." Tomias replied.
"And what is the big deal attacking my daughter and almost killing her. Don't you know that she is a Dria warrior? By harming her you
have brought Dria's wrath upon us all. Now we will have nothing but trouble." the emperor
yelled. "you are to be put into the dungeon until I am good and ready to give you a proper
sentence." the
Emperor said and sent Tomias away.
Meanwhile....
"So who was the
prisoner?" Tasuki asked as Nuriko rejoined him and Amiboshi.
"Taka" replied the purple-haired
Seishi "he followed us into
camp."
"Idiot" muttered
Tasuki "what possible reason would he do that. Did he want us to blow our cover and get
caught?"
"Calm down" Amiboshi
said "there was no harm done."
Tasuki snorted and downed some of the sake from the whisk he had brought with him.
"I say the next time he
does a stupid stunt like that, we let him get away by himself."
The group was sitting near the woods around a fire, when Chichiri saw them. he snuck in as close as he
dared. "Hey you guys." he said in a whisper just loud
enough for them to hear. "Haktura is the daughter of the emperor of Kusco. in the morning the Kusco army
will pack up their things and go home. the leader has
been thrown in jail for his attack on Haktura." he said staying in the shadows.
"try to get back to
Konan as soon as possible"
Tasuki, Amiboshi and Nuriko nodded slightly in Chichiri's direction. The three of them headed out of
camp, pretending to be going on patrol, then headed
back to Eiyo and the Konan palace.
Chichiri walked back into the palace. "they are on their way
sire" he said to Hotohori.
"Thank you Chichiri." he answered
"now please go check on the others and see how Haktura is
feeling."
"Yes Sire"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I feel like a drink" Tasuki said, as the trio stepped foot into the capital of
Konan "tell Hotohori I'll be back
later."With
those words, the red-haired, bandit leader raced off to the nearest bar, before
Nuriko had a chance to stop him. Grinning to himself as he walked into the
closest bar that he could, Tasuki moved straight to the bar counter and sat
down, slamming his fist onto the counter. "I want some sake!"
Nuriko sighed, then looked at Amiboshi. "Come
on" she said, continuing
onwards "let's get back to the
palace."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Haktura
was looking out her window when Nuriko and Amiboshi walked into the palace. *something is up I just know
it.* she thought. she crept out of her room and ran
to the throne room to listen in on the conversation.
Throne
Room
Asha wandered from the forests exhausted and dirty. She had heard many things
about Hotohori and his kindness. The young woman was hoping to ask for entry
into his good graces...whatever that meant. An orphan since the age of 4, there
is not much that she can remember of a life before the forests. Recently
invading forces had ransacked her small living area and destroyed it. In fleeing
she left behind all that she had except the clothing she wore and the cloak on
her back. Creeping through the
borders, she found herself at the Emperor's castle. Wishing to not look
conspicuous she shed her cloak. Her beauty was apparent with long wavy brown
hair that she kept flowing down her back and over her shoulders, emerald green
eyes, and a defined body. There is no room for mistakes in the forest. So
accordingly she had the body of a huntress and the mindset of one as well. A
small sack hung around her waist.
Haktura
looked around to make sure no one was watching her. She noticed a girl of about
19 standing near by. She walks over to her and asks her who she was.
Hearing
another’s voice she turned and was startled horridly. Composing her self she
started her introduction, "I
am Asha Kito. I have no family and I come from nowhere in particular. Any wooded
area is my home. I know nothing of who I was before I was 4 and I know nothing
of a family line. " She thought for a bit and then added, "Well nothing
except for a strange birthmark that's on my lower back. I have lost everything
recently and have come to ask the Emperor for acceptance into his kingdom.
"
After finishing all that she had said she looked at this stranger
carefully, "Who are
you?"
"My
name is Haktura, I am the daughter of the Kusco Emperor. I am here because one
of my Father's Guards was trying to start a war with Hotohori." Haktura
looked at the girl. "Come with me." she led the way into the throne
room where the Emperor sat. Bowing before Hotohori, Haktura explained who the
girl was. she pulled Asha in front of her. "Go ahead speak to him, he is
waiting."
Being
led by this Haktura, she entered the throne room. Bowing before the Emperor she
spoke, "As you have been already informed I am Asha Kito. Many misfortunes
have befallen me in the past years. I assume my parents were born and served
here because my last memories are of this palace. My memories of you and your
grace and understanding are all that I had to find my way here. It was only by
chance that I am here alive humbly asking for admittance into your kind
kingdom." She stared at her feet after finishing her speech unsure of what
Hotohori might say.
"Rise
my child, come closer so that I may see your face better." Hotohori called
Haktura followed Asha as she stepped toward the emperor. "That's much
better, I can see by your face that you are a kind person, so I will put you to
work in the kitchen. If that is all right with you?" The emperor asked her
Miaka
looked out over the room, She was standing beside Hotohori and smiling as he
spoke to the new girl that had come into the room.
Asha
smiled and bowed graciously. "Thank you so much my Emperor. I will not fail
you. I am a wonderful cook!! Tonight I shall create a feast for all to enjoy.
This will be my gift to you and to those under your roof." Completely
excited she turned to leave and then remembered something. Asking meekly
"My Lord......I have traveled a very long way and I am both filthy and
unkempt. Where might I be able to place my things and clean myself up?"
Hotohori
nodded and then looked first at Miaka and then to Haktura, and then finally to
Asha. "I understand your concern. Haktura, since you have found this young
lady do you think you would have the time to make her comfortable? I'm sure
Miaka would be more than happy to go with you and acquaint you with our home. I
would do all this myself, but I have things to attend to here." He smiles
at her "I look forward to your feast tonight and I thank your escorts in
advance for seeing to your well being. And ladies while you are around, if you
should see anyone that is not here please tell them of Asha's arrival and of the
special meal we will be having."
Before
the girls could leave, Tasuki staggers into the hallway, swearing loudly at the
guards as they chase after him and chase him into the throne room. "WHAT
THE F'ING HELL!? I'M NOT F'ING DRUNK ARE YOU SUCH DUMB IDIOTS THAT YOU CAN'T SEE
THAT!?" His mouth was opened wide as he yelled, revealing his fangs and his
eyes filled with a fiery rage that suited him, that matched his fiery red-orange
hair. "HOTOHORI-SAMA! Call yer
f'ing guards off before they become roasted!!!!" He yells again, holding
his tessen in front of him, the smell of sake pouring from his skin and clothes.
The guards moved closer to him and he lifted his tessen, ready to flame them,
the words that he used ready to roll off his sake filled tongue.
Surprised
by Tasuki's entrance but not wanting to cause a scene in front of his guests he
called off the guards, "It's okay. Leave him be. Now Tasuki where have you
been." Thinking about it for a moment. "Nevermind. We both know what
you've been up to. Since you are here I would like to introduce you to Asha
Kito. She will be staying with us here and also working in the kitchen."
Asha
waves at this red haired one thinking of how completely drunken he looks. She
smiles, he reminds her of a close friend she used to know. Not wanting to anger
him she bows in greeting. "Nice to meet you." She laughs and speaking
a little more sarcastically "The nerve of those guards! It's quite obvious
that you're in your right mind! Where do they get off chasing you like some
common thief?"
Tasuki
eyes Asha for a moment and huffs "I hate women!" He stares at Hotohori
for a moment, and then passes out drunkenly onto the ground in a deep sleep.
Asha
laughs as he hits the floor. Then she continues to leave the Throne room
stepping over Tasuki's body. When she reaches the door. "I thank you again
My Lord. I look forward to meeting everyone at dinner tonight."
"I
hope you find your accommodations satisfactory. I apologize for Tasuki's
behavior. He's a handful. Now if you would two would show Asha around, I would
be appreciative."
"Aiieeee!!
No! It's not bath time, Aidou!! NNOOO!!!" Tasuki yells in his sleep, having
one of his bath nightmares again, "noo! Gah! LEGGO OF ME! Yer not f'ing
human! Yer.. I DUNNO WHAT!"
Hotohori
sighed and turned to his guards "Please
take him to his room. I think he has had one too many drinks."
Looking at the girls "Again I look forward to seeing you at
dinner."
Miaka
follows Asha out of the throne room and shows her the way to the kitchen,
"I have a question for you Asha." she turns to look at the girl
"Are you a Dria chosen warrior?" She blushes as she asks, she points
to Haktura who just walked in and says "She is a Dria warrior, and also the
daughter of the Kusco Emperor, They have been searching for the 7 Dria Warriors
and I thought maybe you might be one."
Haktura walks over to Asha. "Please say that you are, I have been looking
everywhere for them and I would love it if you were one"
Asha
looked at both Miaka and then at Haktura and then turned lifting her loosely
worn shirt a little, "See that
funny looking character on my back?? Well I'm not quite sure what it means. But
it glows when I get angry. I'm not sure if that tells you anything or not."
Laughing a bit. "It would be kinda cool if I were though."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GM:
Let's move this conversation to the kitchen section now
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The
Kitchen
Taka
was talking to the cook when Asha and the others walked in. "So who is the
New Girl?" He asks a small smile on his face.
*She is so pretty* he thought
to himself
Asha
looked at him smiling and brushed some of her wavy brown hair out of her face
"I'm Asha. I'm going to be working in the kitchen. Hotohori-sama
says it's okay for me to stay. May I ask who you are?"
"My name is Taka, I am one of the Dria seven and was asked to stay here and
be an adviser to the emperor and also watch over Haktura." Taka said with a
smile, "Well I had better let you get to work, Maybe I'll see you
later?"
Miaka
looked at the symbol, it looked familiar in a way but she couldn't place it.
"Maybe it is."
Haktura
looked at the symbol that Asha showed her, "It is one of the symbols oh I
am so happy we now have 3 of the Dria Seven, I must send word to daddy right
away." Haktura turned to Taka. "I need you to go to Daddy and tell him
that we have found the third Dria warrior, I'll go tell Hotohori."
"Yes
ma'am right away." and with that Taka ran out the door and headed straight
to Kusco, to tell the Emperor the good news.
Thoroughly
confused she turned to Haktura "So what does this symbol mean? And who's
Dria?" She felt suddenly silly asking these things and leaned slightly
against a wall taking in all of the view of the kitchen. Finding a small stool,
she sat on it with her legs bent and her body tilted forward. Her features at
the moment more like a cat or a pouncing wolf rather than a human girl. Seeing a
falcon out of the open window, she whistled a melody and the bird sat himself
deftly on her arm. "Well hello
there. Any good prey out today?" With that he took flight and was out the
window. Looking again at Haktura "Please tell me about your home and what
it is that I am now."
"You
are a Dria Warrior one of the chosen 7, When the 7 are brought together with the
Priestess of Dria the Priestess can make 3 wishes, if she invokes his
name." Haktura pulled up a stool and went on to explain who Dria was,
"Dria is a giant Dragon looking Bird, She is the protector and Goddess of
Kusco and it's surrounding region as is Suzaku of this region." She looks
at Miaka then back to Asha, "I hope this explains it ok to you cause it is
time for you to start preparing the meal for tonight." Haktura gets up to
leave, "The Emperor can probably explain it better to you during the
meal." Haktura leaves the Kitchen and heads to her room, excitement flowing
through her body.
A
Dria Warrior? Her? This lonely wanderer of the countryside. It was almost more
than Asha could comprehend. As Haktura retreated, she thought of the all she had
seen and heard in this one eventful day. Hotohori had been more than generous
allowing her to stay and work in the kitchen. Miaka and Haktura had been more
than helpful and they seemed very nice people. And this Taka, whom she hadn't
spoken to for more than a moment was also a Dria. "How strange all this
should happen in one day..." However Haktura was right. It was time to
being preparation for tonight's meal. Finding the best ingredients she moved to
wash her hands in some water. Looking outside of the window she observed nature
and her heart saddened. As she cooked, Asha often glanced outside and wondered
where exactly she did belong. "An orphaned nobody one day and a member of
an elite team the next. Not one person would have known about my existence if I
had died out there in the wilderness...and now.......I actually have a home. Or
is this really my home now?" Everything had a few minutes more of cooking
and while staring out of the window she noticed a beautiful vine of flowers.
However all but one had bloomed. "Take your time little flower. The sooner
you bloom...the sooner you die." She began to sing a hauntingly beautiful
song sprung from an endless stream of thought. The song drifted throughout the
palace and stirred the being of nature itself. Asha stopped singing and
commenced with plating the food so that it could be served easily later. But
unknowingly to her, her song had touched the flower as well. And in the instant
she turned to leave the kitchen for a small walk in the garden, the bud opened
it's petals and soaked in the last of the fading sunlight.

Back to the Throne Room again
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Throne
Room
Haktura
ran into the Throne room, "Sire" she yelled, "We have found the
Third Dria Warrior," Haktura stops to catch her breath. "The Girl that
came in here earlier showed me the symbol that she has on her and it is the
Third Symbol, I sent Taka to my father to tell him what we found."
Hotohori
nodded and was very happy for Haktura. "I can imagine how pleased your
father will be to hear the news. I knew there was something special about that
girl. This means that you will have to take greater care with her. I am sure
things will work out for the best." Thinking "You sent Taka home to
your father to relay the message? There have been sightings of bandits in the
lands between here and your home. Taka is a Dria and will be more than capable
of taking care of himself. But for future reference please keep that threat in
mind."
"Yes
Sire, I will keep that in mind." Haktura said and left for her room to
prepare for the night’s feast.
Taka
appears in the throne room after having returned from Kusco. "Sire."
He replies kneeling in front of him. "I have come to report that the
bandits have come closer to the palace sire. I was almost attacked by them but
managed to escape. I came straight here to warn you that they might try an
attack, and also to let you in on a small secret." he looks around to make
sure that no one was around. "Sire I have found 2 more Dria warriors, the
Emperor of Kusco already knows about them, and has told me to tell you that they
should be here by night fall tomorrow." Taka stops a moment to catch his
breath. "Their names are Tomari and Satari. They are twins, and are highly
regarded by his majesty in Kusco."
The
Emperor lowers his head deeply worried. "This horrible news Taka. The
borders will surely be in danger within the month."
Hotohori sighs and stands making his way toward the door. Looking out
over the territory before him he turns to one of his guards "Go and tell
Chichiri about the bandits. I want him to gather Suzaku's guardians along with a
few regiments of soldiers. NO CHANCES WILL BE TAKEN! We must drive them away as
soon as possible. Have Tasuki come and see me. I want to know if he knows
anything about this. Do not leave Konan until I give you the word."
Turning his attention to Taka "It
is great news about your finding even more warriors. I hope that Dria smiles on
your endeavors." Taking him aside "Dinner is coming soon and by now
Asha's meal is ready. We will eat within the hour. Please go and make sure she
and Haktura are ready for dinner."
"Yes
Sire I will go right away." Taka said and ran from the room.
Hotohori
looked around him and then sat heavily looking at a map on the table. Pointing
to the Eastern-most border. "Here is where they have been seen in heavy
concentration. But I believe that in time they will try to enter our lands from
the south." Pointing to the
main entrance to Konan "I want two regiments here to guard the entrance in
3 days. I want you on guard night and day, trading off posts of course."
Gazing at each Warrior then turning to Tamahome "I want you to lead all
chosen Suzaku at the Southern border. Chichiri will help you decide the best
plan of action. In 2 days we will speak of this again. But now I want all to
prepare for the feast."
"Yes
Sire, as you command." Tamahome bows low to his liege. He leaves the
planning room heading for his own quarters to prepare for the feast. *'Those
bandits have been nothing but a bother as of recent, why are they concentrating
their efforts now.'* He enters his chambers closing the door behind him so he
can be alone with his thoughts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GM: Good as anything I suppose. Let's see what happens when a New Warrior
appears on the Scene.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The
New
Warrior.
The
guard nods and enters the throne room with the stranger close at hand. Upon
reaching the Emperor he stops, "Sire, this traveler wishes to have an
audience with you."
Hotohori looked at this foreigner and his attire...*”A guest from Rome?”*.
Bowing slightly in greeting, "How wonderful to have a visitor from so far
away. I take it you have traveled a long distance to get here. What is your
business here?" Not wanting to mention the bandits until he was sure that
this man was not one of them, he looked at him cordially and waited for a
response.
Haktura
wanders around the palace and spots the stranger entering the throne room. She
follows behind him and sneaks up beside the emperor. "Hope I didn't startle
you Sire. I just want to know about this stranger." Haktura whispered to
Hotohori. She looks at the stranger and gives him a shy smile. She sits on the
steps to the right of Hotohori.
Taka
walks into the Throne Room. "Sire, the feast is ready in the Great
Hall...." He stops mid sentence when he spots the stranger. "I-I'll
have them set one more place Sire if that is alright with you?" he stammers
then waits for Hotohori to speak.
He
looks to Haktura, "No not at all. It seems we are all awaiting his
introduction." To Taka, "Please do so."
Maxiumus
returns Hotohori's bow. "My name is Maxiumus. I am most thankful for
your welcome sire. I hope that my presence is not too sudden. Indeed I have
traveled leagues beyond counting. From the Walls of Sparta to the gates of
Carthage and beyond. If you would permit me to change into more suitable
attire, I would be honored to join you at your table." Noticing Haktura he bows to her and smiles warmly.
"I do not believe I have had the pleasure of making your
acquaintance."
Haktura blushes, "M-My name is Haktura the daughter of the emperor of
Kusco, and the leader of the Dria seven." she said stammering at first,
then becoming more confident, "Hotohori asked me to stay here a few days
after his people had saved my life." Haktura blushed more at the look that
Maxiumus gave her. "I would be honored if you would sit by me at the
feast?" She asked him.
Hotohori
smiled at the exchange between the two, "Well then it is settled Maxiumus,
you shall join us for dinner." Sensing an opportunity to do a little more
good, "Haktura, I'm sure, will be more than happy to show you as far as the
West Corridors. There a guard shall take you the rest of the way if she cannot
find your room from that point."
"It
would be a pleasure, sire” Maxiumus responds. Then turns back to Haktura
"Well, Haktura, shall we. You lead the way."
"S-Sure"
Haktura stammered and lead the way out in to the hall of the palace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GM:
This part conversation is now moved to Tamahome's Chambers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tamahome's
Chambers
"Tell
him that I am grateful for the offer but I do carry my own formal garment. But
if he would permit me to change and freshen up I would be glad."
"Sure
We can ask him that when he answers the door." Haktura said blushing.
Tamahome
has begun undressing when he hears the knock on the door. He quickly refastens
his sash opening the door. "Please, enter Priestess and honor me with your
presence." He nods in acknowledgement to Miaka then steps back to allow her
access.
"Thank
you Tamahome" Miaka replied "Haktura and The new Guy Max is here also
they need to use your room till one is fixed up for him, just so that he can
freshen up for the feast tonight, That is if you don't mind."
"I hope you don't mind that we showed up with out warning, The emperor
suggested we ask you if he could use your room till after the feast."
Haktura said her face a little red.
Haktura turns and runs out the door, Smiling at Max as she leaves. "See you
at the Feast Max" she shouts as she runs off to get ready herself for the
Feast.
"Oh sure by all means he can use it, just so long as he doesn't touch my
stuff. So I hope he brought his own clothes to change into." Tamahome
closes the door behind the others as he walks over to his closet pulling out a
purple satin gi with gold trim and pants. Both items are ornately embroidered
with gold thread.
"Now, Miaka, I may be comfortable with you watching me change in here but I
don't think Max will. So, we'll have to see you at the feast."
"T-That’s ok Tamahome. But
don't forget that I need to talk to you about something." Miaka said and
left the room.
Haktura’s
Room
It
was only a matter of time before the feast and all the preparations had been
set. All that was needed now was for Asha to change and enjoy the meal with
everyone else. Having some free time she decided to take a little walk. Seeing
Haktura in her room sleeping through the cracked door, she knocked lightly,
"Haktura...??"
Haktura
awoke, was that knocking she heard? It was, "Yes Come in?" She sat up
on the bed and waited for whoever it was to enter.
Entering
the room she was pensive, "I'm sorry to wake you. Were you sleeping?"
"Yeah
but I guess it is time to get up anyhow." Haktura said. "Is the meal
almost ready? I can't wait to taste some of you cooking." She stopped and
thought a minuet. "Why did you come to see me any way?"
Asha
looked slightly flushed "I didn't want
anything in particular. It's just that.. I know little to nothing about what I'm
supposed to do...as far as the whole Dria thing goes." She
shrugs "I guess it doesn't really matter. It's dinner time."
Taka
enters the room just as Haktura is about to explain Asha's role as a Dria
warrior. he interrupts her and explains him self. "Well as a Dria Warrior
your duties are to protect the Dria Priestess, (whom we still have yet to
rescue.) until she is able to summon our God Dria."
"He is right, the only problem we have is that as soon as we have all of
our warriors we still have to rescue our Priestess from the enemy." Haktura
finishes. "Taka is the feast set up for us now?"
"Yes his majesty says that we are to eat within the hour." Taka says
then slowly leaves the room, hoping that Asha will follow him. He really liked
her and hoped she felt the same about him.
Protect
the Priestess huh? Sounds easy enough. Or maybe that's because she was still
very unsure if she could do it. However she nodded with some determination,
"I'm sure I can do that."
Watching Taka leave she excused herself,
"I guess I should go make sure everything is okay with the
feast." Waving to Haktura,
Asha jogged the hall and then slowed to an easy pace as she caught up with Taka.
Not knowing what to say really, she tapped him on the shoulder and then sat on a
nearby railing with the approaching darkness to her back. Smiling gently
"I was hoping that I'd get the chance to talk to you."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GM:
The conversation between Taka and Asha is out in the hall now. Haktura is
getting dressed for the feast and Miaka is waiting for it to begin. All of the
Suzaku warriors (except for Tamahome) are in the throne room waiting for
Hotohori to give them orders on what to do about the upcoming raid on the town,
and the 2 Dria Warriors that King Tomni sent will be on their way in the
morning.
